Loki squeezed his eyes shut.
He was waiting to die.
After all the crap he had been through, he had finally made his peace with it.
Dying here would not be so bad.
At least he would no longer have to go around stirring up trouble.
Loki felt completely calm.
But...
He waited for quite a while.
The searing pain he had expected never came.
Everything was quiet.
Loki's eyes snapped open.
He looked up and immediately sucked in a sharp breath.
The sight before him left him dumbstruck.
In the sky.
The roiling purple clouds seemed to have frozen solid, suspended motionless in midair.
The terrifying pressure that had threatened to destroy everything moments earlier was gone.
The beast stood motionless among the clouds, like something dead.
Behind Ren.
Dozens of thick, transparent chains shot into the sky, binding the beast's body tight.
Loki's mouth hung wide open.
He could easily have fit two eggs inside.
"What did you do?!"
Loki cried out in shock.
This was simply unbelievable.
Compared to the monster that blotted out the sky, Ren was not even a speck of dust.
And yet.
Ren had actually pinned the monster in place!
"You're making a fuss over nothing."
Ren's tone was utterly casual. "Being big doesn't mean you can fight."
Alioth was even weaker than he had expected.
He was nothing more than a beast driven purely by instinct.
Ren had applied a little pressure with his psychic power.
The monster had immediately become an empty shell.
He had not even had a chance to resist.
Still.
Ren could not help wondering.
Is this thing really that useless?
He's supposed to be the divine beast guarding the Authority's most important grounds.
And this is all he's got?
After all, Ren was only an avatar right
