Zhou Zhong had taken over most of Black Tortoise Hall's affairs for the time being. He had once again become its Chief Disciple.

He kept everything in perfect order. Black Tortoise Hall ran just as it had when Shi Jian was alive.

Ye An spent the night at Black Tortoise Hall.

Early the next morning, a Black Tortoise Hall disciple reported respectfully from outside his door, "Hall Master Ye, the Sect Master has summoned the masters of the Four Halls to the Main Hall for a meeting."

Ye An acknowledged him, straightened his robes, and headed for the Main Hall.

Everyone but Ye An had already arrived.

The other three hall masters sat in their respective seats of honor. When Ye An entered, each gave him a slight nod of greeting.

Once all four hall masters were present, Zhao Xuanji dispensed with pleasantries and came straight to the point.

"I've called you here today to discuss an important matter."

"You've likely heard about what happened in Annan Prefecture a few days ago. The Heaven Overturning Cult gathered forces from three prefectures in southern Annan, and the Demon Suppressing Guard joined with the Annan Martial Alliance to wipe them out."

"There's something worth learning from this: Annan Prefecture's martial forces have already united."

Zhao Xuanji swept his gaze over the four of them.

"Annan Prefecture's sects, families, and Rogue Cultivators once all went their own way. But some years ago, it established the Annan Martial Alliance, bringing most of the prefecture's martial forces together."

"This incident showed that such an alliance not only makes it easier to manage martial artists, but also lets everyone act as one when facing an evil cult. They can fight together instead of fighting separately and passing responsibility back and forth."

Qin Zhengyang's gaze sharpened slightly.
