Organization

• Core disciples join one of the Four Halls, gaining direct access to that hall’s cultivation arts and matching techniques. The halls do not exclusively control their martial arts 54.
• Hall resource shares are contested. At one distribution, White Tiger and Vermilion Bird each received 30 percent, while Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise each received 20 percent 56.
• Each hall has a chief disciple. The sect also selects an overall Chief Disciple to represent all four halls: Jiang Tingxue gained the position after defeating Shen Jingfeng, and Ye An later succeeded her 56 110 143.

Grounds and Resources

• Four Symbols Origin-Returning Array — Uses heartwood from the Cangwu Tree as its core and draws Origin Energy from the mountain range. It lets Qi Condensation cultivators experience that energy before reaching the Gathered Origin Realm 84.
• Scripture Repository — Holds sect histories and martial-arts manuals. Its second floor includes Mystic Grade techniques, while a hidden chamber preserves older records 86 188.
• Hall-chief privileges — Include increased Contribution Points, one free Mystic Grade martial art each year, and free use of the Origin-Returning Array once every two months 99.
• Cangwu Spirit Liquid and fruits — The sect reserves Spirit Liquid for leading disciples and supplies Centennial Cangwu Fruits for cultivation breakthroughs 101 183.
• Qingyan Mountain — A sect-owned medicinal mountain previously entrusted to the Song Family. Under the arrangement Zhao Xuanji describes, its managing Lineage takes 20 percent of the yield and the sect receives 80 percent 92.

History

The sect migrated to Cangwu from an unspecified location. Its surviving public histories do not explain the move or identify its former home; they describe its founder only as a cultivator whose power exceeded the Gathered Origin Realm 86. After settling on Cangwu Mountain, the sect established a precept to stand with Great Yu and protect its people 136.

Ye An entered as an examination-exempt Outer Sect disciple through Su Yuanshan’s recommendation. He later joined Black Tortoise Hall and rose to become both its chief disciple and the sect’s overall Chief Disciple 33 55 144. His victory over a Hanging Sword Sect disciple earned him a sect reward of Contribution Points, cultivation resources, and time in the Cangwu Cultivation Chamber 84.

Zhao Xuanji’s breakthrough to Open Palace strengthened the sect’s standing across Yun Province. The sect marked it with nine bell tolls—its signal for the highest celebration—and hosted guests from across the province on Cangwu Mountain 156 175. At that gathering, Shen Jingfeng won five successive challenges, Jiang Tingxue won twelve, and Ye An then took their place against the visiting martial artists 177.

Relationships

• Hanging Sword Sect — An ally whose founder instructed the two sects to help one another, despite competition between their disciples 80 144.
• Blackwater Sect and Blazing Fire Manor — Fellow Cangwu sects called upon alongside the Four Symbols Sect and Hanging Sword Sect to respond to Heaven Overturning Cult attacks 112 136.
• Demon Suppressing Guard — Sect disciples can serve in the imperial force; Four Symbols members also join its missions against threats in Cangwu 33 152.
• Song Family — Former manager of sect-owned Qingyan Mountain. The sect reclaimed interests from the family after its misconduct and collusion with the Heaven Overturning Cult 44 54 92.
• Soul-Rending Sect — A past dispute was mediated by the Great Yu court. Open conflict ended, but lesser frictions persisted 181.
