The Luo Family Calls for Help

Before Ye An could finish reading the body-tempering Martial Arts manual, Zhao Xuanji took out the Luo Family's letter.

"Take a look."

Ye An set aside his study of the manual, took the letter, and skimmed it.

The letter opened with a few polite remarks. Beneath its elegant wording, it was clear that the Four Symbols Sect and the Luo Family were not strangers to each other.

It went on to praise how the Four Symbols Sect had flourished in recent years: Sect Master Zhao had broken through to Open Palace, and its martial traditions were thriving. Its disciples even included Ye An, a young talent who had outshone his entire generation in Yun Province. How enviable.

Then a name appeared in the letter.

"Luo Bingzhu?"

Seeing Ye An's question, Zhao Xuanji explained, "The head of the Luo Family. I met him several times years ago. He and I are of the same generation."

Ye An nodded and read on.

The latter half of the letter got down to business.

A Mine Mountain had recently been discovered in Tongling Commandery, Qing Province, where the Luo Family was based. Its mineral resources were abundant, with plenty of Spirit Grade ore. Deep within it, there might even be minerals suitable for forging Earth Grade weapons.

That should have been wonderful news. The problem was that the Mine Mountain lay right where the territories of three powers met.

The Luo Family was one. The other two were the He Family and the Tiance Sect.

Each of the three claimed a different share of the mining rights to the Mine Mountain, and none would yield.

In the end, with the Great Yu authorities mediating, the three agreed to settle the division of the mine through a contest between their younger martial artists.
