Inside the duel space Love had constructed as an exact copy of Northern Capital.
The giant Fallen Beast's tentacles crashed down, demolishing a huge swath of buildings. High-rises collapsed, sending dust billowing into the sky.
Love prepared to strike back, but the energy she had just gathered suddenly dimmed, costing her the chance to counterattack. All she could do was keep dodging the Fallen Beast's next attacks.
Since she had mostly been using wide-area destructive skills, the scattered little Fallen Beasts had long since been wiped out. Only Love and that Fallen Beast remained in the duel space now.
But the disappearance of those small fry brought Love no relief.
All the negative energy released by those low-level Fallen Beasts when they died had been absorbed by the Fallen Beast before her!
Compared to the beginning of the fight, it had not weakened at all. Instead, it had grown stronger.

Love released her magic power again, constructing an isolation barrier around the Fallen Beast to stop it from drawing energy from its surroundings to restore itself. But the effect was hardly significant.
The Fallen Beast was on the same tier as Love, and years of nourishment from Northern Capital's negative energy had made it exceptionally powerful.
