"Without a body, there's no proof they killed your subordinate." Aokiji looked at the Marines behind Spandam and asked, "Did you see Lin Mo and his companion kill Spandam's subordinate?"

Several of the Marines froze. Two of them nodded.

Aokiji tilted his head and stared at them.

Frightened, they immediately started shaking their heads instead.

Spandam glanced back at them and flew into a rage when he saw them all shaking their heads. "You bastards! Didn't you all see that big guy electrocute Jabra to death? How dare you tell such blatant lies in front of an Admiral!"

"Hey, hey, Spandam, don't be so hard on them." Aokiji waved a hand. "Anyway, without a body, there's no proof Lin Mo and his crew member actually killed anyone. Let's leave it at that. It's time for my afternoon nap."

Spandam: "..."

Spandam couldn't contain his anger. "What afternoon nap? You're a Marine Admiral! I'm the chief of CP9! Why do you believe them instead of me?"

It wasn't that Aokiji didn't want to believe Spandam. He simply didn't want to work overtime or fight Lin Mo. He just wanted to take his nap sooner.

"That settles it." Not wanting to waste any more words on Spandam, Aokiji stood up to leave the barbecue restaurant and find a quiet spot in the sun to sleep.

Spandam wanted to stop him, but the man was a Marine Admiral, after all. Although Spandam was the chief of CP9, he knew his own limits. He wasn't stupid enough to oppose a powerful Marine Admiral.

So Spandam could only swallow his anger and step aside for Aokiji.
