"That's no secret," Luffy said without a care. "I'm going to be the Pirate King someday."
"If you really become a pirate, Mr. Garp will have his hands full." Makino smiled as she set a glass of orange juice in front of him. "He's always wanted you to join the Marines."
Luffy gulped down more than half the juice, wiped his mouth, and scoffed. "What's so great about the Marines? Pirates are free! Hey, when I set sail, why don't you become my first crew member, Makino?"
"Haha, thanks for the invitation." Makino smiled as she turned him down. "I have a bar to run, so I'll sit out your adventure."
"Huh? You really won't join my crew?" Luffy said regretfully. "If you came aboard, I could drink your delicious juice every day."
"Hahaha." Makino laughed and patted his head. "Luffy, you're twelve now, aren't you?"
"Yeah." Luffy quickly perked up and grinned. "Five more years and I'll set sail. I can't wait! I hope I get to see Shanks again soon."

Makino watched him with a smile. Then something occurred to her. She flipped through the newspaper she had been reading, pulled out a wanted poster, and smiled at the face on it. She placed it in front of Luffy. "If you run into this person after you set sail, say hello to him for me."
