As soon as she finished speaking, her stomach growled.
"I'm so hungry..." Clutching her stomach, Lin MuMu climbed out of bed, steadied herself against the wall, and opened the door of the tiny room.
Then she felt her way forward through the pitch-black corridor outside.
After passing several rooms, she actually managed to find a relatively spacious kitchen.
There were several windows around the kitchen. Bright moonlight and scattered starlight spilled through them, giving her just enough light to make out the furnishings.
Lin MuMu immediately spotted the fruit and bread in a cabinet beside the refrigerator. Without a second thought, she rushed over, grabbed two pieces of bread, and began stuffing herself.
Just as she was about to open the refrigerator to see what else there was to eat, faint footsteps came from the kitchen doorway.
Realizing someone was coming, she abandoned the refrigerator, grabbed a few more pieces of bread and some fruit, and scurried around before hiding beneath a table of kitchen utensils not far from the refrigerator.
Then someone carefully opened the kitchen door from outside.
The newcomer had the same goal as her, but went straight to the refrigerator, opened it, and took out a bowl still half-full of chicken. They had barely eaten a few bites when another noise came from outside the kitchen...
Hearing it, the food thief scurried around just as Lin MuMu had earlier. By sheer coincidence, he chose to hide under the same table.
When he crawled underneath and saw someone already hiding there, he froze.
