Lu Xin actually skipped the cafeteria too and took out a lunch box. His lunch was fairly simple, but it was still better than Little Lin Mo's.
Just as Little Lin Mo picked up his chopsticks to eat, Lu Xin snatched his lunch box and put his own in its place. "Let's trade."
"No!" Little Lin Mo tried to grab his lunch back.
But he was nowhere near Lu Xin in height or build, and all his attempts failed.
"You can't win against me, so give up," Lu Xin said smugly. "I just want to eat your lunch. Trade with me."
Rather than being touched, Little Lin Mo felt even more resistant and resentful. All he felt was that Lu Xin was humiliating him.
Fine, then. He wouldn't eat. It wasn't as though this was his first time going hungry.
He tossed Lu Xin's lunch box back without trying to reclaim his own. He picked up his cup and simply drank water.
Seeing that Little Lin Mo had stopped fighting for his lunch box, Lu Xin fell silent for a moment before returning it. "You're really stubborn. Is it worth going hungry over something this small?"
Little Lin Mo ignored him, pulled his lunch box over, and started taking big mouthfuls.
Lu Xin sighed helplessly, glanced at his own lunch, and, in a rare moment of silence, started eating.
But that silence lasted less than half an hour. Once he finished eating, Lu Xin started chattering in Little Lin Mo's ear again like a motor mouth, as though nothing had happened.
After that, everything went back to normal. Whenever class ended, Lu Xin pestered Little Lin Mo. During PE, he followed him around, and after school, he followed him out of the gates.
