Sky Island: The Reassurance Lin Mo Brought

"Wyper, who was that kid? He actually kicked your cannon shot back at us..."

"Are we really letting them go?"

"That kid might help the Skypieans fight us. I think we should kill him."

Wyper's companions discussed it grimly as they hurried along.

"Leave him for now," Wyper said sternly. "We can't waste too much strength fighting him here. If he does side with the Skypieans against us, I'll deal with him myself!"

Conis was still hesitating.

Lin Mo watched her calmly. He had a fair idea what was going through her head.

Either go or don't. Why take so long to decide?

With me here, what is she still worried about?

"I can keep you safe," Lin Mo said, unwilling to wait any longer. "If you trust me, come along."

Conis looked up at him. His expression had not changed at all, but she could tell he was growing impatient.

If she had not seen Lin Mo kick that Flame Cannonball away with her own eyes, she would never have believed someone two years younger than her could be so strong.

With Lin Mo protecting her, perhaps it really would be all right.

She took a deep breath, and some of the fear left her eyes.

"I still want to go to Upper Yard after all. Lin Mo, can I trust you?" Conis asked nervously.

"Yes," Lin Mo said.

"All right." Conis broke into a grin. "Hold on tight. We're setting sail."

Before long, they reached Upper Yard. It was Conis's first visit, though, and she did not know there was a cloud route leading straight into its interior.

So she brought the Crow to a stop at a convenient landing spot along the shore.
