"I destroyed your pirate crew with my own hands, didn't I?"
"Moria!"
Kaido laughed and shouted.
At his words, the chill in Moria's eyes deepened, and flames of rage burned within them.
"So you still remember the score between us!"
His voice was vicious, his eyes gleaming with hatred.
Neither hand paused. With a sharp snip, the scissors in his right hand cut in two the shadow he was pulling with his left.
"Aaah!"
A faint, piercing scream rang out.
Kaido's expression changed. He keenly sensed that his shadow had vanished from the ground. His opponent now held it in his hand, where it struggled desperately.
"What did you do to my shadow?"
Moria sneered.
"In the past, I probably couldn't have pulled off this move, much less hurt someone like you."
"But now!"
After the hellish special training at Marine Headquarters, his physique and Haki had grown far stronger.
"Things are very different!"
As his words fell, Moria opened his mouth wide and stuffed Kaido's shadow into his body.
"What?"
Kaido's expression changed drastically.
He had a vague sense that something terrible had happened.
This bastard had actually swallowed his shadow.
"And you're not the only one!"
Moria burst out laughing.
As he spoke, he pulled another person's shadow from inside his coat.
From its outline, Kaido recognized the shadow of his friend, Charlotte Linlin.
"When did you—you took Linlin's shadow too!"
"Hee hee hee hee!" Moria laughed. "While you were busy fighting Fleet Admiral Xia Le, of course!"
Kaido's expression shifted as he stared at Moria, unsure what he intended to do with their stolen shadows.
"Absorbing both your shadows at once is a bit of a stretch!"
"But to avenge what happened back then, it's all worth it!"
Moria's expression grew even more vicious, bordering on madness.
