Chapter 428: Final Battle
A short while later.
Sanji found Luffy in his cell, listless and slumped against a corner.
Clearly, he was in poor spirits too.
"Luffy!"
He called softly and tossed a piece of meat inside.
Luffy caught it and tore into it. In just a few breaths, nothing remained but a bone, which fell to the floor.
"Sanji!!"
With some of his energy restored, Luffy cried out in delight.
"Luffy!"
Sanji smiled too.
"Did you escape? You even stole a uniform!"
After getting a good look at him, Luffy asked in surprise.
"I joined the Marines!"
Sanji said.
"The Marines?"
Luffy froze, scratched his head, then spoke again with a smile.
"Come to think of it, Xia Le said before that he wanted to work with us."
"I bet he's going to make his move against the World Government soon."
"Sanji."
"We'll be free soon!"
The confidence in his voice made Sanji pause.
"Make his move against the World Government?"
"He really is a man with unimaginable nerve!"
Sanji sighed.
"Ace and Sabo said the same thing."
"They both really admire him!"
"So do I!"
Luffy said with a smile.
His candid words held not a trace of pretense.
Sanji felt relieved. Though the Ninth Floor certainly seemed like punishment, Luffy and Zoro were clearly still holding up.
And if things really were as Luffy said, perhaps they would be out before long.
"The World Government, huh?"
"I've always wondered what you'd do after becoming the Pirate King, learning about Laugh Tale, and finding the ONE PIECE, Luffy."
"Maybe your ultimate target would be the World Government too!"
Sanji murmured.
But Luffy did not answer. After that brief burst of energy, he had become listless again.
Under the white light that shone day and night, even someone
