"If he doesn't emerge for a month, this world will be completely in our hands. By then, the World Government will be beyond saving!"
"And besides!"
At that point, Smoker took a deep breath.
"The destruction of Mary Geoise dealt a devastating blow to the Celestial Dragons!"
The so-called World Government was, in essence, the Celestial Dragons. With the pillars of that power and nearly all its leadership wiped out, how could they muster enough strength to resist?
"Keep a close watch for any trace or clue of the Celestial Dragons."
"Once you find them, arrest them immediately!"
Xia Le narrowed his eyes and slammed a hand onto the desk.
"Yes, sir!"
Smoker nodded.
Then Xia Le lowered his head and continued reading the documents on his desk.
Most concerned troop movements at Marine Branches around the world and the results of battles in various regions.
Some had won swiftly and taken control of the local situation. Others were locked in stalemates, evenly matched and requesting reinforcements from headquarters. Still others had suffered brutal losses against the World Government's allied forces.
For a time, the entire world descended into chaos.
The only good news was that, during this extraordinary period of turmoil, there had been no reports of pirates at sea.
Clearly, the pirates' arrogance had been thoroughly crushed in the previous era. In this new age, everyone's attention was focused on the war between the Marines and the World Government.
At the same time, Xia Le received word that large numbers of civilians everywhere were asking to join the Marines during this age of upheaval.
The Marines' numbers surged in a short time, while civilian enthusiasm for enlistment reached an all-time high.
Xia Le found this deeply gratifying.
As time passed, the Marines' power would only continue to grow.
