The man ahead of him was Uchiha Hikari.
After the disaster, Hikari and Sasuke had become the Uchiha left stranded in Konoha.
Only after finishing his work did Uchiha Hikari look toward Kakashi. He sighed and slowly walked over.
"At least having a familiar face like you in Konoha counts as a good thing."
Hearing that, Kakashi understood that the resentment Hikari had harbored earlier had faded.
He managed a faint smile. "I still have things I need to do here!"
"Lord Xia Le didn't object, so I certainly have even less right to reject your decision."
Hikari said.
"What about Sasuke?"
Not wanting to dwell on the subject, Kakashi shifted the conversation.
"I've already found him a wet nurse."
"He'll grow up under my care. Once he turns three, I'll teach him ninjutsu."
Hikari said.
"I'll help too!"
Kakashi said.
"You're just as busy as I am."
"Your teacher's child seems to have become an orphan too?"
Hikari said with a sigh.
"Naruto?"
"Lord Third Hokage will take good care of him."
Kakashi said.
"Naive!"
"Never pin your hopes on other people."
Hikari said with a cold laugh.
Kakashi did not argue. He knew that after the massacre of his clan, Hikari's outlook was no longer what it had been. Simply standing here and speaking calmly with him was already a tremendous step forward.
"Did Lord Xia Le tell you anything before he left?"
"Where they were going, for instance?"
Hikari asked again.
"No."
Kakashi shook his head.
"I see."
A trace of disappointment appeared in Hikari's eyes.
Kakashi fell silent.
The departure of the remaining Uchiha from Konoha had been inevitable.
The two stood before the gravestones for a long time before finally saying goodbye and leaving.
Time slowly passed.
After the upheaval, Konoha finally settled into peace
