Kuta gave a noncommittal "Mm!" before sweeping his gaze over the ship again. "If there's nothing else you need to bring, let's go! We've already spent half a day in here."
Looking up at the starry sky overhead, Kuta smiled. "The scenery really is beautiful, but even the most beautiful view gets dull if you stare at it long enough. Especially when nothing here ever changes. It's like a painting."
With that, Kuta cast the two men an admiring look.
If he had to stay somewhere like this for decades, he had no idea what he would become. Without any special abilities, he thought he might well go mad.
He turned and led Fede and Chrisna off the enormous ship, and the Freedom resumed its journey.
Standing at the stern of the Freedom, Fede took off his Captain's Hat while Chrisna drew the longsword at his waist. Both men looked up.
Above the brilliantly shining Galaxy, over the enormous, dilapidated sailing ship, the transformations of ages past seemed to unfold before their eyes. To Kuta and the others, the two men almost seemed not to belong to this time and place.
No one disturbed them. The Freedom drifted slowly downstream along the Galaxy, gradually vanishing from sight and disappearing into the starry sky.
In fact, getting out of here was simple.
They only had to find the one path out, and leaving would be easy.
But to the people of this world, that one path was like the sun in the starry sky. It seemed to hang right overhead, yet it was somewhere they could never reach.
This space, which seemed infinitely vast to everyone else, held few secrets in Kuta's eyes.
Its infinity came from layers of overlapping, expanded space.
