Ch. 141No. 265: The Seven Warlords Are Much More Normal Without Doffy
Chapter summary
- Atlas imposes conditions on Hancock: He tells Boa Hancock that the Kuja Pirates must stop raiding merchant and civilian ships and target pirates only. When Sandersonia and Marigold protest that Amazon Lily needs the spoils to survive, Atlas silences them, then offers a practical alternative: he will arrange trade for the island. He also orders Hancock to accompany him to Marine Headquarters and face Mary Geoise rather than let her fear dictate her choices.
- The Marines prepare for war: At Marineford, Sengoku learns that Hancock has agreed to attend the Shichibukai meeting. Intelligence indicates that a third of Whitebeard’s grand fleet has gathered, so Sengoku orders the evacuation accelerated. He also assigns Atlas to host the arriving Shichibukai. Dracule Mihawk has made seeing Atlas a condition of answering the summons.
- Hancock’s party travels to Mary Geoise: Atlas transports the Marine ship across the Calm Belt using the Chicken Talisman’s power, while Hancock keeps her own ship under her control. Her sisters worry that she is submitting to Atlas, but Hancock suspects his ambitions are large enough to bring down the Celestial Dragons. She shows no clear resentment toward him, though she remains uncertain about his intentions.
- The Shichibukai gather: In a council chamber at Mary Geoise, Vice Admiral Tsuru waits with Mihawk, Jinbe, and Bartholomew Kuma. Mihawk asks when Atlas will arrive. Jinbe asks whether the Marines intend to destroy the Whitebeard Pirates at Marine Headquarters. Tsuru confirms that the coming conflict is a real war; the chapter ends before she elaborates.
Character developments and interactions
- Atlas acts forcefully but not purely punitively: he restricts Hancock’s raids while offering trade to address Amazon Lily’s needs. He also pushes her to confront her trauma, and reluctantly accepts Sengoku’s request to host the Shichibukai.
- Hancock agrees to cooperate despite her fear of Mary Geoise. She appears to see Atlas as a possible threat to the Celestial Dragons, though she is not yet certain what to make of him.
- Sandersonia and Marigold remain frightened by Atlas’s power and fear his demands could endanger their island.
- Jinbe attends despite his loyalty to Whitebeard, partly because Fisher Tiger’s life is in Marine hands and Atlas has promised he will not be forced into combat.
- Mihawk is eager to meet Atlas, while Kuma’s motives remain suspicious to Tsuru.
Significant themes
The chapter contrasts coercion with practical compromise: Atlas uses intimidation, but also offers trade rather than leaving Amazon Lily without resources. It emphasizes confronting trauma instead of fleeing it, as well as the uneasy loyalties and political bargains forming ahead of the approaching war.
