The Hokage Office.
Kakashi held a stack of documents as he gave Minato his report.
All three of his students had graduated now, and one had even become his wife. His duties as their Jonin instructor had long since ended.
So Minato had transferred him to the Hokage Office to serve as his assistant, a way of grooming and promoting him.
"...Yakushi Nonō of the Reconnaissance Division excels at Medical Ninjutsu. Personally, I think she should be transferred to a more suitable position."
Minato looked up at that and, after a moment's thought, smiled.
"Ah, I remember that name. She's the mother of that youngster who recently joined the Anbu, isn't she?"
Kakashi nodded and replied.
"Yes. She previously served in Root, but she's kindhearted and also runs an orphanage on her own."
"After conducting a series of security checks, the village transferred her to a regular Combat Unit. I think that's a waste of her talents."
Minato considered it for a moment, then nodded slightly.
"The Third often says people should be assigned work that suits their abilities. Let's do as you suggest, Kakashi."
"You've been doing good work lately. It looks like this position suits you quite well, haha."
Kakashi shrugged, his eyes taking on a listless look.
"I'm just doing my best to carry out Minato-sensei's instructions. Personally, I'd prefer something a little more relaxed."
Amused by his student's words, Minato gave Kakashi a light swat with the documents.
"Honestly, you were so driven as a child. How did you grow up to be so lazy?"
Kakashi adjusted his Forehead Protector and said thoughtfully.
"Probably the influence of a certain unreliable guy."
Besides, Kokoro was just too hard to satisfy...
And Lord Jiraiya's books were impossible to put down...
Hearing Kakashi's answer, Minato rested a hand
