"The winner is Jumpluff!!"
Lilian announced the result without hesitation. Honestly, she had found the battle rather bewildering herself and had not fully understood it,
but she was still quite good at recognizing swirly eyes.
Besides, there was a unique beauty to the sight of Milotic lying limply on the ground.
"Thanks for your hard work."
Dian stroked Jumpluff, who had stopped in front of him, then took out a blue nourishing relaxation spray and spritzed a few droplets over his Pokémon.
Come to think of it, the spray bottle in his hand seemed to be the Squirtle-shaped one he had gotten back then.
"Watta."
Jumpluff rubbed against his cheek, then circled the arena to collect the scattered Cotton Spores before running over to Lorelei's table. "Na-na~"
With a soft pop and a flash of red light, Jynx appeared and waved happily. The two of them ran straight out through a side door.
"Misdreavus."
Dian called softly. The light warped for an instant, and Lady Misdreavus flashed out after them.
He was not worried about Jumpluff and Jynx getting into trouble. After all, just how reckless would someone have to be to try robbing a Jynx—especially one belonging to Lorelei of the Elite Four?
Anyone challenging a boss ought to check whether they had leveled up enough first.
He had sent Misdreavus after them to pay the bills. He could hardly expect Jynx and Jumpluff to carry money when they went out. Whether those two even recognized money was another question.
Still, how had Misdreavus learned to recognize money? Apparently, greed had its advantages.
"That tickles."
Dian tilted his head away. Meloetta's face was too close to his neck, and the long green hair and warm breath really tickled.
"Melta!"
Meloetta had no choice but to change position, sitting sideways
