Dian silently closed his eyes. "Quagsire, charge at this angel of ice."
Quagsire nodded, then flicked its black tail and shot like a cannonball straight toward Mega Audino, who was swinging an Ice Punch.
"Quagsire is actually taking Mega Audino head-on! What a completely unexpected turn of events! Just what is Yingyue planning?!"
The announcer leaned forward. His professional instincts told him that the crucial moment was coming.
"What exactly is he...?" Brock tried to work out what the opposing Trainer was thinking. After traveling with Ash all this time, he had gained some understanding of Trainers from every region.
What remained fresh in his memory were the battles at the Indigo Plateau Conference, where Trainers made full use of their Pokémon's distinctive traits: Bellsprout overcoming Pikachu's strength with flexibility; the clashes of moves at the Johto Region's Silver Conference, where Charizard melted the battlefield with Flamethrower; and the move combinations and innovations of Trainers and Coordinators in the Hoenn Region.
But the Unova Region?
The spectators watched as Quagsire stubbornly withstood Mega Audino's Ice Punch, then used its large black tail to pin its opponent to the ground.
"Audino?!" Mega Audino immediately panicked and struggled desperately to break free of Quagsire's hold.
"This is...?!" Unlike the panicking Mega Audino, its Trainer, Shiki, saw an opportunity—a chance to defeat his opponent once and for all. "Audino, don't panic! Use Blizzard!"
"Audino—!" At his command, Mega Audino immediately calmed down, its long white ears standing tall. With a thunderous boom, lightning flashed and thunder roared overhead. Streams of freezing air wound through the dark clouds like dragons and serpents, gathering into a decisive Blizzard!
This strike would decide the battle!!
"Mega Audino has turned being pinned by Quagsire into an opportunity to use Blizzard!! Has the goddess of victory finally smiled
