Dian had told Misdreavus countless stories, including things he claimed to have experienced himself... Of course, after the founding of the nation, its fortunes had supposedly suppressed all evil spirits. He had probably imagined those things.
But imagination was what frightened people most. Once they started imagining things, they scared themselves, giving off Fear Energy for Misdreavus to devour.
That was why Dian no longer went out of his way to collect Fear Energy for Misdreavus. Through the ever-present Spirit World, Phantom Dive, and her own instincts, she seemed able to draw it from nearby through certain mediums.

Dian closed the laptop again and turned to another question: Why had Elgyem come here, and why had it targeted Mewa so precisely?
Green Grass Town had more than a hundred households and over four hundred residents. Yet Mewa had been the first to suffer an attack. There had to be something special about her.
"Do Elgyem and Beheeyem come to Decolora Island every year? What about the other islands?" Dian asked after a moment's thought. Shaluo was on the phone with Luoya, biting her lip with worry.
More than twenty islands in the Decolore Islands had already been charted. Counting the nameless islands no one had explored, there could easily be thirty or forty.
Shaluo relaxed when Luoya told her she was fine. Covering the receiver, she frowned in thought before saying uncertainly, "I haven't heard of glowing UFOs appearing on any other islands."
She quietly told Luoya to stay safe, then hung up and carried Mewa from the floor to the bed. "Is she all right?"
Shaluo wasn't sure. As far as she knew, there had never been a case of Elgyem or Beheeyem attacking a resident... No. Perhaps they had attacked people, then used their
