"That boy was remarkable. His potential rivaled my own." Lysandre faced the sea breeze. Though his words were praise, his tone was utterly flat.
"Unfortunately, his pursuit of beauty was lacking."
He turned and looked sincerely at the young man before him. "But I believe you should understand, shouldn't you? As a fellow heir to royalty."
He had investigated the young man. His rise was undoubtedly connected to the Napolant Kingdom in countless ways... and naturally, Lysandre knew that kingdom inside out.
Anyone who could wield one of its swords was no ordinary person. Surely, like him, he was a descendant of a kingdom from a bygone age.
"There were many descendants of kingdoms. They've already scattered to the winds." Dian did not correct him, offering an evasive answer instead. He wanted to see what Lysandre intended to do.
Being a descendant of a kingdom certainly sounded impressive.
In reality, though, there were at least a hundred different royal lineages throughout the Pokémon World, if not countless more. It was nothing unusual.
Lysandre's eyes narrowed. He recognized the evasion.
His gaze flickered as he gathered his words.
"This era, this world, is so beautiful."
"This is a world of humans and Pokémon, a new era in which humans cannot live without Pokémon. Pokémon have replaced the gold, silver, and riches of the past, becoming the symbol of this new age."
"Pokémon are wonderful!
But Pokémon, too, are things that pass away, that disappear!
We humans and Pokémon help one another and prosper together!"
"And so, this new era has given rise to so many new professions. Pokémon Rangers, Pokémon Trainers, Pokémon... Hunters!
And so, Pokémon have instead become tools for humans to fight over and flaunt, to seize from one another in pursuit of victory!"
"Isn't that so?" Lysandre spoke
