Snowpoint City lay at the northernmost edge of Sinnoh Region, a city of pure white blanketed in snow year-round.
Mt. Coronet stretched across Sinnoh, leaving this place glittering with ice crystals and seemingly cut off from the world.
Yet Snowpoint City had not been pushed to the margins like Luoxiang City.
It was one of Sinnoh Region's major cities.
Lake Acuity lay nearby. Known as the home of the Lake Guardians, the Lake World, and the Mirror of Wisdom, the snow-covered lake was said to house Uxie, the "God of Wisdom," who guarded the Lake World.
Snowpoint City also connected to Sinnoh's Battle Frontier, making it a necessary stop for Trainers.
For years, this historic city had shone like a jewel of ice and snow in the north.
Every January 12, a dazzling weather phenomenon swept through Snowpoint City. Snowflakes drifted down like diamond stardust, creating a sight counted among the wonders of the world.
Countless tourists packed the city each year just to see it.
In the darkness, innumerable flecks of diamond stardust descended, glittering as though the starry sky had come down to earth.
For all these reasons, Snowpoint City had a Trainer School renowned worldwide for raising outstanding Ice-type Trainers.
And it had the landmark of any major city: Snowpoint Gym!
The Gym was the city's heart, an authority whose influence reached far beyond it.
Morty, the current leader of Snowpoint Gym, was just as famous throughout Sinnoh. Even the guidebooks given to new Trainers featured the imposing Gym standing amid the snow, alongside a bright young girl with twin ponytails: Morty, the Ice Crystal Girl.
