"You call that a pet?" Garfield slowly pulled his hand out of the mass of snakes, thoroughly shaken. "Are you sure that thing won't eat people?"

"No. He's very well behaved." Jason wiped his hands on the dog's head. "Off you go."

Cerberus rubbed against Jason's calf, then headed out the door.

"Should a church—even have something like that?" Garfield's scalp prickled. "You don't worship Satan, Lucifer,

and all sorts of demons, do you?"

"Lucifer is Roland's friend, Satan lost to Roland, and all those demons are just power banks. Why would we worship them?" Jason washed his face. "You'll get used to it. Those demons might seem scary, but as long as you're strong enough, they're just harmless little animals."

"Okay. That's really something," Garfield marveled.

"Come on, let's get breakfast."

"What do you eat for breakfast? Sacramental bread?" Garfield asked curiously. "I've also heard some churches consider eating in the morning a sin, especially before morning Mass."

"We're keeping demons as pets in a church, and you still think we care about that?" Jason shrugged. "Besides, isn't that a medieval rule?"

"Oh, right—"

"Boss Jason, we're having seafood risotto this morning. You'd better hurry, or all the squid and prawns will be gone," one of Jason's underlings told him.

"You eat this well for breakfast?" Garfield was taken aback.

"We've got money now. Of course we should improve our standard of living," Jason said. "Come on, let me show you what we eat." Jason sat down in a corner, winked across the table, and served Garfield a bowl of rice topped with a large lobster, assorted shellfish, and crab. The shrimp were tender and juicy, with a lovely texture.
