"And it ended in a tie. We went through all that for nothing." The Flash climbed out of the pile of tentacles.

"I have to say, even with the score tied, I really don't want to see overtime. You gave us a football game unlike anything in human history," Cyborg grumbled.

"Was it that bad?"

"Absolutely. For the first time, I'm glad my dad didn't come to watch the game."

"Don't keep blaming your father," Batman said. "He's a scientist. He really is busy with work."

"Exactly. At your age, with your skin color, you're lucky you can still see your own dad," Roland chimed in.

"...I get it," Cyborg said darkly. If he hadn't known he would lose, he would have blasted Roland on the spot.

"You certainly have a unique way of comforting people." Batman's mouth twitched. Roland really had a way with words.

"Come on. I had medals made for you," Roland told the Justice League.

"Gold? You're that generous?" Beast Boy blinked.

"Iron with copper plating."

"Oh." Beast Boy pursed his lips. "But we didn't win, so these medals—"

"You didn't lose, either. Tied for first is still first." Roland picked up a medal and hung it around Beast Boy's neck.

"I have to admit, that attitude of yours is worth learning from," Nightwing said, putting on a medal of his own.

"Obviously."

"That was a nice break, but I need to get back to business." Batman stepped out of the Fenrir armor. "I'm heading back to the United States Justice League headquarters. Anyone coming?"

"I have something to take care of, so I'll go with you," Green Lantern said.

"I'll come take a look, too. I've barely been there," Roland said.

"Can I come?" Lois put
