"Leader, we found him, but the situation is a little complicated," an assassin told Cassandra respectfully.

"Complicated? Where is he?"

"In a small town in New Jersey. It seems to have ties to the Shadow League."

"The Shadow League?" Cassandra paused. These were the elite forces Ra's al Ghul had cultivated within the League of Assassins. After she became leader, some members of the Shadow League had quietly left. Cassandra had never been particularly interested in running the League of Assassins, so she had not sent anyone to hunt them down.

"They seem to be hiding something there. They won't let us approach, and we can't sneak in, either." The assassin looked a little embarrassed. They had all learned from the same master; none of them could get past the others' tricks.

"I'll take a look," Cassandra said.

"We'll come too." Roland hauled Green Arrow up.

"Will you be back for dinner?" Jason looked up.

"We won't be eating here." Roland walked out of the Church and got into a van. "Let's go."

"Take Three Gates Bridge out, then head west—" The assassin gave Roland directions.

Roland drove to the town the assassin had described. "Nothing looks strange about this place."

"Let's head inside," Cassandra said, walking into town.

They had barely taken two steps when something whistled through the air. An arrow shot toward Cassandra's feet.

Cassandra kicked the arrow up, then flicked it back, grazing the face of the crossbowman who had fired it.

"Beautiful." Green Arrow couldn't help giving her another look. That move alone would have given him a headache if she'd used it against him.

"Let's go." Roland walked forward, and the people along the road dropped one after another.
