"...What the hell was all that about?" Roland watched the news on TV, looking puzzled. "That's it? It's over? What was Joker even trying to do?"
"It was a test," Harley Quinn said beside him. "To see whether Batman was still himself. Apparently, someone had been imitating Batman, and it really stressed Joker out."
"Imitating Batman?" Roland thought for a moment. "Could it have been The Batman Who Laughs?"
"No idea. I only know a little about it." Watching the photo of Joker being sent to prison on TV, Harley Quinn asked Roland, "When are you calling the cops to send me back to Arkham Asylum?"
"You seem pretty mentally stable to me right now. You don't need to go back to Arkham Asylum, do you?"
"S-stable?" Harley Quinn repeated incredulously.
"Yeah."
Harley Quinn was just about to argue when Astra suddenly popped up behind her. "Godmother, come see my pets!"
"I—let's go see them." Harley Quinn wiped the sweat from her forehead and let Astra lead her away.
Roland stayed seated and continued watching TV. After finishing a news report, he thought for a while, then called Bruce.
"What is it?"
"Well, you just got out of prison, so I thought I'd call and check in... Was the soap I brought you any good?"
"...I never used it. That's not what you wanted to ask, is it?"
Roland thought for a moment. "Do you think this seems like Joker's work?"
"Not really, but Joker isn't exactly mentally sound, so it's plausible," Bruce said.
"Bullshit. Even I could tell something was off. You're telling me you couldn't?"
"All right, I noticed," Bruce said. "He has Joker's memories and body, but his personality is slightly different. This isn't the first time it's happened."
"Remember that story? The three Jokers," Roland said.
