An alarm echoed through the harbor. Roland had just arrived with the other three when he saw a group of glowing, half-human, half-fish monsters fighting the police.

Bullets did little damage to the monsters, and the police in Amnesty Bay were not particularly well armed. They soon found themselves in danger, with several officers seized by the monsters and dragged into the water.

"What are these things? Fish-men?" Roland stared at the creatures, which would have looked bizarre even in One Piece, and felt his scalp crawl.

"No idea. I've never seen monsters like these." Aquaman shook his head. "But whatever they are, there's only one thing to do right now—"

Aquaman swung his Trident, tearing several monsters apart. Wonder Woman drew her sword as well and cut down every monster in her path.

They moved incredibly fast, clearing out all the monsters on shore in just a few breaths. Aquaman killed some of those in the sea, but a few escaped.

"What the hell are these things?" Aquaman opened several cocoons the monsters had left behind. Inside were the humans they had captured, all deeply unconscious, as though they had inhaled an anesthetic.

"If even you don't know, are they really marine creatures?" Roland asked.

"—I have a few guesses, but I'm not sure." Aquaman shook his head. "Come on. Looks like we'll have to make another stop before heading to the ruins—"

"Aquaman, you don't know? I thought you knew everything about the ocean. Don't you live in the sea?"

One of the officers questioned Aquaman.

"He lives in a lighthouse," an older officer said.

"A lighthouse? Who lives in a lighthouse? Why not go back to Atlantis?"

"Atlantis doesn't exist, Gransto. Everyone on Earth knows that." The two officers carried on talking among themselves. "We
