"You didn't leave any clues when you handed it over to her, did you?" Roland asked. "Barry's no fool."
"Relax. I brainwashed her with magnetic force and made her think she'd invented it herself," Lola said.
"Oh—magnetic force—can hypnotize people—" Roland began recalling the important part.
"Dad, what are you planning?" Lola's eyelid twitched.
"Learning," Roland said seriously. "You're never too old to learn."
"What the hell are you learning?!"
Soon afterward, the tower began firing lightning like a Tesla coil from Red Alert. People dressed as ninjas came racing out one after another, heading for Central City—and Lola!
"Hey, why are they coming after us too?" Roland asked, puzzled.
"Maybe because I have the Speed Force too." Golden lightning appeared around Lola, and her body became a scarlet blur. She moved at incredible speed over short distances, weaving among the ninjas in that tiny space without letting them touch so much as the hem of her clothes. Her agility was terrifying.
Within a few moves, Lola had toyed with the ninjas until they tripped and fell. Before they even touched the ground, they rapidly aged and turned to ash.
"How do you have the Speed Force?" Batman asked in bewilderment. He had studied the Speed Force too, but he had never figured out how speedsters acquired that superpower.
"Because Barry Allen is my grandfather, of course!" Lola said. "Why else would I be the one coming back from the future to save him? Superman is still alive in our time."
"There she goes again." Roland curled his lip. He didn't believe a single word.
"Tsk, tsk—karma." Batman was amused. "So where did your Speed Force actually come from? Don't tell me lightning struck some chemicals again."
"No. I fought the eleventh Reverse-Flash and captured him, then had Wally drain
