Battling Palmer

After a short rest, the battle between Bai Shi and Palmer officially began.

"Bai Shi, give me everything you've got! Let's have a proper battle!"

"Come on out, Rhyperior!"

As he spoke, Palmer tossed his Poké Ball into the air, releasing a rhinoceros-like Pokémon clad in brown and reddish-orange stone armor.

Bai Shi's earlier performances had sparked considerable interest in Palmer.

He decided to get a little serious and see what Bai Shi was truly made of.

He wanted to see whether Bai Shi could surprise him even more.

"So it really is Rhyperior..."

Bai Shi looked thoughtful as he studied the Pokémon Palmer had sent out.

Rhyperior was a Ground- and Rock-type Pokémon. Not only was it tough and durable, but it also packed a serious punch, making it an extremely difficult opponent.

Even though his Pokémon had all grown stronger, they still struggled against opponents like this.

Sealeo, the only one with a type advantage, had yet to evolve and wasn't particularly bright.

Otherwise, he could have sent it into battle.

"Zangoose, I'm counting on you!"

After some thought, Bai Shi ultimately chose the more well-rounded Zangoose.

Zangoose had barely been hurt during its battle with Ash.

It had enough stamina left for another match.

"Oh, that Zangoose! Just what I was hoping for!"

Palmer's eyes lit up as he spoke with enthusiasm.

He even offered Bai Shi the first move.

"In that case, don't mind if I do!"

"Zangoose, use Ice Punch!"

Bai Shi accepted without hesitation and went straight on the offensive.

At his command, Zangoose raised its right hand and swung hard at Rhyperior, launching a massive blue-white spectral fist.

"Rhyperior, take it head-on!"

Palmer's expression remained unchanged as he commanded Rhyperior.
