The Clash of Thunder and Fire

"Ursaring, get ready to battle!"

Paul recalled Torterra and sent Ursaring back out.

"Gliscor, I'm counting on you!"

Ash left Gliscor on the field without hesitation.

"Ursaring, use Bulk Up!"

Paul gave the first command.

Ursaring tensed every muscle, raising his attack and defense.

"Gliscor, use Stone Edge!"

Ash wasn't about to stand by. He called out to Gliscor at once.

A barrage of sharp stone blades shot toward Ursaring.

"Ursaring, keep using Bulk Up!"

Paul ignored the incoming attack and gave Ursaring another command.

Ursaring tensed his muscles and took Gliscor's Stone Edge with his own body.

"Now, Gliscor! Use Giga Impact!"

Ash pressed on, ordering Gliscor to attack again.

Gliscor poured all his strength into a charge at Ursaring.

"Ursaring, use Hammer Arm!"

A smile tugged at Paul's lips as he gave the command.

He had done all that to lure Gliscor in.

With a roar, Ursaring raised a thick arm glowing white and swung it at the charging Gliscor.

Thud!

The impact rang out. Relying on sheer strength, Ursaring stopped Gliscor's charge and struck back.

He not only blocked Giga Impact but also slammed Gliscor to the ground.

"Ursaring, use Stomping Tantrum!"

Paul seized the opening and gave another command.

Ursaring lifted his right foot and stamped down hard on Gliscor.

Gliscor had barely started to rise when Ursaring's foot struck, leaving web-like cracks in the ground beneath him.

"Ursaring, use Slash!"

Paul pressed his advantage.

Ursaring pinned Gliscor beneath one foot, leaving him no way to escape.

Then he raised a paw and brought it down on Gliscor's head with a sharp whoosh.

Crack! Gliscor's mind went blank, and he lost consciousness.

The score became five to four.

Ash was in a tight spot, with only one Pokémon left.

"Paul really is strong! But I'm
