"Thanks for the effort, Charizard! Sceptile, I choose you!"

Ash recalled the unconscious Charizard and sent Sceptile back into the battle.

"I never thought you'd push me this far."

"Heatran, you're up!"

Tobias replaced Latios with a new Pokémon.

A reddish-brown Pokémon appeared on the battlefield. Hard metal covered its head and limbs, its claws were cross-shaped, and it looked like a turtle without a shell.

"Tobias's third Pokémon is Heatran?!"

Bai Shi's eyes narrowed in surprise at the sight of Heatran.

Then he remembered that Heatran had appeared in the anime.

For Tobias, the man known for using legendary Pokémon, having a Heatran made sense.

"No matter how strong my opponent is, I won't give up!"

"Sceptile, use Agility!"

Ash gritted his teeth as he gave the command.

He hoped Sceptile's speed could make up for its type disadvantage.

Sceptile sprang forward, charging at Heatran at incredible speed.

"Heatran, use Heat Wave!"

Tobias gave the order calmly.

Heatran opened its massive jaws and breathed a torrent of scorching red air at the oncoming Sceptile.

Sceptile charged straight into the flames. Heat Wave struck it and dealt considerable damage.

"Heatran, Magma Storm!"

Tobias pressed the attack.

A dark-red pillar of fire, as hot as molten lava, swept toward Sceptile.

Sceptile couldn't dodge. The fire struck it and knocked it out.

"Phew... Snorlax, I choose you!"

Ash took a deep breath, steadied himself, and sent Snorlax into battle.

"Heatran, use Heat Wave!"

Tobias repeated his earlier tactic.

Heatran opened its mouth and blasted a powerful stream of scorching air toward Snorlax.

"Snorlax, use Protect!"

Ash was ready and reacted at once.

A transparent barrier appeared before Snorlax, shielding it from Heat Wave.

"Snorlax, use Hyper Beam!"

As soon as Heatran's attack ended, Ash launched a counterattack.
