The Lily of the Valley Conference Comes to an End

"Did it work?"

Seeing that Heatran seemed to be down, Ash broke into a hopeful smile.

Ash was wondering what his opponent's fourth Pokémon would be when Heatran staggered back to its feet.

The sight snapped Ash out of his daydream and back to reality.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"

Ash came to his senses and hurriedly ordered Pikachu to finish it off.

A powerful yellow current shot toward Heatran.

"Heatran, use Magma Storm!"

Tobias reacted at once.

Heatran had used up a great deal of stamina, and its Magma Storm was much weaker than before.

Even so, it easily blocked Pikachu's Thunderbolt.

"Heatran, use Stone Edge!"

As soon as Heatran blocked the attack, Tobias went on the offensive.

Heatran formed a barrage of sharp stone blades and sent them flying at Pikachu.

"Pikachu, use Quick Attack!"

At Ash's command, Pikachu dashed forward at incredible speed and dodged the attack.

"Go, Pikachu! Aim for its leg and use Iron Tail!"

Ash seized the opening and called out his next command.

With the speed from Quick Attack, Pikachu rushed up to Heatran.

Pikachu put all its strength into its tail and lashed Heatran's right foreleg.

Unable to dodge, Heatran was knocked off its feet by the Iron Tail.

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail again!"

Ash pressed his advantage.

Pikachu leaped into the air, its tail whipping toward Heatran's head.

"The same move won't work on me twice! Heatran, use Iron Head!"

Tobias had learned from the last exchange.

A metallic sheen flashed over Heatran as it raised its head to meet the descending Pikachu.

Bang!

The collision sent Pikachu flying. It slammed hard into the ground.

Heatran collapsed with a crash after knocking Pikachu away.

Both Pokémon lay on the ground, neither able to get back up.

"Pikachu, hang in there! Don't give up!"
