Time to Say Goodbye

After the Lily of the Valley Conference ended, Bai Shi joined Ash and the others on a ship back to Twinleaf Town.

Along the way, Team Rocket attacked them, just as expected.

Although they easily drove Team Rocket away, the wild Pokémon the trio had provoked still caused quite a bit of trouble.

Several Pokémon aboard the ship ended up poisoned.

Fortunately, Brock stepped in and brought them out of danger.

The experience also inspired Brock.

He decided to make becoming an excellent Pokémon doctor his goal for the future.

However, with so much specialized knowledge to study, Brock might no longer be able to travel with Ash.

Although Ash felt a little disappointed, he fully supported Brock's decision.

"Bai Shi, what are your plans next?"

After learning about Brock's plans for the future, Ash curiously asked Bai Shi about his own.

"Watching your battle with Tobias really fired me up. I'm still excited about it."

"So I've decided to follow your example and challenge the Pokémon League."

"As for where, I'm going to choose the Unova Region."

Bai Shi offered Ash a plausible reason.

"Unova? Another place I've never heard of!"

A thoughtful look crossed Ash's face.

He had yet to decide where to travel next.

Now he could add the Unova Region to his list of options.

"What about you, Dawn?"

Ash did not forget Dawn and asked about her plans as well.

"Hmm... I might stay home and spend some time with Mom before thinking about traveling again."

Resting her chin in one hand, Dawn gave it some serious thought before offering Ash a rather vague answer.

In other words, she had not made up her mind either.
