A New Beginning

After returning to Pallet Town, Ash kept wavering over whether to travel through the Unova Region next or challenge the Kalos League.

It wasn't until Delia told him she was going to tour the Unova Region that he finally made up his mind.

He accompanied Delia and Professor Oak to Nuvema Town in the Unova Region.

But the moment they got off the plane, Team Rocket attacked. Giovanni had sent them there on a mission.

Ash let his guard down, and they snatched Pikachu.

With no Pokémon other than Pikachu on him, Ash had no way to take him back from Team Rocket.

Fortunately, Zekrom, a Legendary Pokémon of the Unova Region, happened to be passing over Nuvema Town.

A lightning bolt from Zekrom broke up the attack and got Ash out of trouble.

In the process, Pikachu absorbed too much electricity and became overloaded.

Seeing this, Ash followed Professor Oak's advice and took Pikachu to the laboratory of Professor Juniper, a renowned researcher in the Unova Region.

He hoped she could give Pikachu a thorough examination there.

As it happened, Bai Shi arrived in Nuvema Town at that very time.

He was about to rest at the Pokémon Center when he overheard passersby talking about the strange weather that had just occurred.

The abnormal weather they're talking about was probably caused by Zekrom.

That means Ash has likely arrived in the Unova Region too.

Bai Shi thought back over the story and soon worked out where he was in the timeline.

He changed his plans and headed straight for Professor Juniper's laboratory.

By the time Bai Shi arrived, Professor Juniper was examining Ash's Pikachu.

"Huh? Bai Shi! I can't believe I ran into you here. What a coincidence!"

Ash was delighted to see Bai Shi visit the laboratory.
