The Swords of Justice

Legends of the "Swords of Justice" had long circulated throughout the Unova Region.

The name primarily referred to three Legendary Pokémon: Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion.

Besides those three Legendary Pokémon, the Swords of Justice also had a member in training.

That member was the Mythical Pokémon—Keldeo.

To help Keldeo become a fully fledged Sword of Justice as soon as possible,

the three Legendary Pokémon had decided to take Keldeo on as their apprentice and take turns teaching.

Every so often, Keldeo would seek out one of those mentors for training.

Over the past few days, it had been Virizion's turn to teach Keldeo.

And Pinwheel Forest was where Virizion usually resided.

Naturally, Keldeo had come to Pinwheel Forest.

The three Legendary Pokémon taught Keldeo in a very simple way: by battling.

As a member in training, Keldeo was naturally no match for them.

All Keldeo could do was learn from countless defeats, hoping to grow stronger that way.

"At this rate, when will I ever defeat Kyurem and become a Sword of Justice?"

One day, dejected after yet another defeat, Keldeo wandered through Pinwheel Forest.

Keldeo hoped a stroll would help lift those spirits a little.

By chance, Keldeo spotted a Cottonee battling a Sewaddle.

But that Cottonee's performance was downright abysmal.

Compared to Cottonee, Keldeo felt incredibly powerful.

After watching briefly, Keldeo lost interest, turned around, and left.

Keldeo had assumed that would be the last encounter with that ridiculously weak Cottonee.

Yet the next day, Keldeo spotted Cottonee nearby again.

This time, Cottonee's opponent had changed from Sewaddle to Patrat.

Cottonee's performance, however, remained as consistent as ever.

If a human hadn't been giving commands from the sidelines, Keldeo could have sworn Cottonee would have been trounced just like yesterday.
