Mistralton Gym

Mistralton City lay in the western Unova Region and boasted a massive airport.

The Mistralton Gym was located inside that airport.

After reaching his destination, Bai Shi took a short rest at the Pokémon Center before challenging the Mistralton Gym.

Unlike his previous two challenges, Bai Shi had good luck this time.

His application was accepted almost immediately.

Led by a staff member, Bai Shi met Skyla without any trouble.

"I'm Skyla, the girl who soars through the skies, and the Gym Leader of the Mistralton Gym."

"I hope we can have a fun, thrilling battle!"

The young, red-haired girl with brown skin, dressed in a blue flight suit and tall blue boots, addressed Bai Shi.

Thanks to Ash's influence, she no longer held Imagination Battles.

She would therefore face Bai Shi seriously in this Gym battle.

Taking the Jet Badge from her would not be so easy.

"Gym Leader Skyla, I look forward to learning from you!"

Bai Shi nodded gently and greeted Skyla politely.

He was determined to win the Mistralton Gym's Badge.

"Each side may use three Pokémon. The match ends when all of one side's Pokémon are unable to battle."

"During the battle, the Gym Leader may not voluntarily switch Pokémon. The challenger may switch freely."

Once the referee finished announcing the rules, their battle officially began.

As she spoke, Skyla released a blue-and-black bat with a heart-shaped nose.

This was Swoobat, Woobat's evolved form, a Psychic- and Flying-type Pokémon.

"Swoobat, huh? Whimsicott, I'm counting on you!"

After a moment's consideration, Bai Shi sent Whimsicott onto the field.

Usually, the first Pokémon he sent out was there primarily to gain experience.

The Pokémon that followed were his true mainstays for securing victory.
