As Bai Shi passed through a forest, he spotted someone crouching furtively in the grass.

If the person hadn't been dressed like a Bug Catcher, Bai Shi might have thought he was plotting an ambush.

Once Bai Shi was sure the boy wasn't after him, he relaxed and put away the Poké Ball he had drawn.

"Now that brings back memories!"

The familiar sight filled Bai Shi with nostalgia.

He would hide in a corner of the forest and carefully watch his surroundings,

hoping to find a Pokémon he liked and catch it.

Bai Shi spotted him at a glance.

"Excuse me, what Pokémon are you trying to catch?"

Bai Shi approached and asked out of curiosity.

He wanted to know what the boy was after.

If it was a rare Pokémon and the boy failed to catch it, Bai Shi could swoop in.

Kano, who had been lying in wait for a Pokémon, shot to his feet in fright.

He relaxed a little when he saw it was Bai Shi.

"Come on! You can't just pop out like that! You scared me!"

Kano rolled his eyes and grumbled.

"Heh, sorry. I was just curious."

Realizing he had been inconsiderate, Bai Shi hurried to apologize.

"Keep your voice down. You'll scare the Pokémon away!"

"And if it runs off, you owe me one!"

Kano held a finger to his lips as he spoke to Bai Shi.

Then he crouched back in the grass and fixed his gaze on something ahead.
