Penny struck a deal with Ralts. After Mingyou paid for the Kricketune Man figurine, Penny took a Palafin figurine out of his bag.
It was just as finely crafted, but this one was still available online, whereas the Kricketune Man figurine was a discontinued model released several years ago. He had been a little crafty from the start, taking advantage of a newcomer to the fandom.
Unfortunately, Ralts was so innocent that even he felt a little guilty... The little one immediately fell in love with the Palafin figurine, posed with a fist outstretched, and agreed to trade figurines with Penny.
Mingyou watched from the side with a smile, but the more he thought about it, the more something seemed off. Hadn't Penny originally intended to give them this figurine outright so they would give up the Kricketune Man one?
Yet now he had paid for it just to make the trade...
"Why does this feel like a loss no matter how I work it out?"

"Mingyou? Why does that sound familiar... Never mind, I can't remember. Thinking makes my head hurt."
Penny shook his head gently, clearly unwilling to rack his brains. Work was exhausting enough every day; he would rather take it easy.
