Interrupted mid-battle by a stranger, Cynthia frowned and folded her arms. "This is a private courtyard. No outsiders are allowed in without an invitation."
"Private property?"
He seemed to realize it only then. After looking around, he shook his head, took off his hat, and said softly, "Sorry. I was walking along the beach and ended up here."
"I'll take your word for it. But why did you interfere with our battle?"
That was what Cynthia wanted to know. Interrupting a Pokémon battle was terribly rude. Most people would have started yelling by now.
Mingyou watched him in silence. His expression stayed cool, but inwardly he was stunned. How could he not recognize this man?
Just as Mingyou recognized him, the green-haired man held his hat against his chest and said softly, "As for my name... just call me N."
"Nice to meet you. I'm M."
Mingyou greeted him at once. Cynthia had already found "N" an odd name, and hearing Mingyou change what he called himself for the handsome young man startled her. "M? I didn't know you were into that."
"Huh? Where did that come from? You think I'm a bottom? It stands for master player... No, it's the first letter of my name!"
Mingyou protested at once. Of all people, his idol Cabbage Sis thought that about him? What part of him looked like a bottom? He was obviously a top!
N had introduced himself with a letter, so Mingyou had used "M" to make things less awkward and bring them a little closer.
"..."
N had no idea what they were talking about. He wasn't good at communicating with humans and rarely spoke to them. If their battle hadn't frightened the nearby wild Pokémon, he would never have come over.
Hearing his reason, Cynthia glanced around.
