After the Open Class ended, Mingyou took the notebook Akari had given him and flipped through it on his way to the Terarium. He was going to meet Professor Vero there; they had just arranged it by message.
"Leave it to a professional, huh? There are so many important points here, I can barely understand some of them..."
As Mingyou read the notes, he immediately understood why he had been criticized for the Open Class he had taught last week. Students came to learn. If they learned nothing and had their time wasted, who else would they blame?
He studied the notes carefully and, before he knew it, reached the elevator to the Terarium. After the Open Class, school officials had invited Professor Vero to its Central Plaza, so Mingyou had arranged to meet him there.
He took the elevator to the Terarium's Savanna Biome. The sun blazed overhead, and the scenery was as familiar as ever. He boarded a Flying Taxi and headed for Central Plaza...

In the Flying Taxi, Mingyou came across the new term Akari had highlighted in her notes. He instinctively glanced out the window toward the center of the Terarium, at the aging disco ball overhead that changed color with the time of day.
That sphere was the Ecological Core. It controlled and carefully regulated the time of day and weather throughout the Terarium, creating a variety of conditions. Even the temperature in each area was strictly controlled so the Wild Pokémon could adapt to their surroundings.
Professor Vero had helped develop and build the Ecological Core. The Terarium itself, however, had been designed by Principal Cyrano alone.
"This has to be one of the most advanced products of human technology in this era, right?"
