Chapter Summaries

Baki organized Sunagakure’s response as Sasori and Deidara escaped with Gaara, but the pair were intercepted by Kankuro and then by Team 7. Second Pillar charged Deidara, who recognized his Sharingan and accepted the fight.

• Baki ordered Anbu squads to pursue the criminals, rescue Gaara, and seal the roads, but Sasori and Deidara evaded the attacks and continued their escape.
• Sasori used a barrage of Senbon to bring down the pursuing Anbu ninja before he and Deidara left Sunagakure.
• Kankuro confronted the pair and sent Karasu after Deidara, but Sasori’s iron scorpion tail captured and destroyed the puppet.
• Team 7 arrived, and Kankuro asked Uzumaki Naruto, Second Pillar, and Haruno Sakura to stop Sasori and Deidara.

Deidara’s explosive clay forced Naruto, Second Pillar, and Sakura into a fierce fight, while Sasori defeated Kankuro and revealed his identity. The chapter ended with Sasori joining Deidara, as Kankuro lay poisoned and the battle against the three continued.
