There were lawns and Hunting Grounds so vast that their far edges vanished from sight. Every horse in the Stable was sleek and sturdy, with untangled tails and no grit clinging around their upper legs.
The backyard contained a large vegetable patch planted with seasonal vegetables, along with fruit trees laden with fruit. Whenever the wind blew, the rich fragrance wafted straight into their noses.
Beside the Vineyard stood the Wine Cellar. Its winemaker had been hired at great expense from a renowned wine company, and the wine produced there was reserved exclusively for members of the Edward family.
The Castle was a Gothic building. The first floor housed the dining room, sitting room, and servants' quarters; the second held guest bedrooms and a lounge area; the Third Floor contained the master bedrooms and offices; and the Fourth Floor was the Attic, currently used for gardening.
Sometimes, the ladies and socialites would gather around the low tables in the Attic to eat pastries, drink tea, and chat about amusing recent events.
