The Terrorclaw Bear, by contrast, knew nothing of redirecting force. The impact knocked it backward three heavy steps, each one gouging deep claw marks into the hard, rocky ground.

Tang Shan would never let such an opening slip away. He stamped down and shot forward like a cannonball. Qi and Blood surged through him like molten steel in a furnace, flooding every limb with power. He slammed his shoulder squarely into the Terrorclaw Bear's chest.

His feet gripped the ground as power rose from his right foot and surged through his body in waves. Tendons, muscles, skin,

ligaments, and bones snapped taut, turning him into a fully drawn bow. His elbow became the arrow, unleashing a second burst of force at point-blank range.

Already reeling from the collision, the Terrorclaw Bear could take no more. Its breastbone gave a sickening creak, and a jagged crack spread across it.

The overwhelming force hurled its massive body into a stand of ancient trees. Branches as thick as bowls snapped, sending splinters flying.

Suddenly, danger flared. Five cold streaks flashed through the air.
