Phew!
Tang Shan let out a long breath and instinctively clenched his left fist. A sense of boundless strength surged through him.
He had gained far more than expected from absorbing this Soul Bone. His overall physical abilities had at least doubled, and that was only the immediate improvement. If he developed the potential that came with it, another fifty percent increase was well within reach.
His Soul Power Level had risen too. Although most of the Soul Power had dissipated over time, the sheer amount remaining had still carried Tang Shan from Level 22 to Level 23.
That meant if he used his second Soul Skill, Heaven and Earth Manifestation, his body could grow to roughly four-point-one meters tall.
He stood, a series of sharp cracks running through his body. He had grown taller again.
One meter eighty-eight. That was Tang Shan's height now.
An instinct born of his Martial Soul told him this was his theoretically ideal height. Even as he grew older, it would not change unless he willingly sacrificed qualities such as agility or endurance.
So where would all that remaining growth go? According to the instinct of his Martial Soul—or rather, what he should now call his body's subconscious instinct—it would go toward the ultimate refinement and reshaping of his physical form. The spacing of his bones would be adjusted to perfect mechanical proportions, with subtle precision down to the smallest fraction;
his ligaments and tendons would be tempered until they transmitted force with the lowest possible loss;
and his muscles would combine explosive power with poised beauty, every inch drawing closer to the ultimate human form.
In short, Tang Shan was evolving toward the template of a "perfect human."
This perfection did not mean invincibility in combat. It meant reaching the theoretical upper limit
