"Malfoy?" Ron was the first to leap to his feet, his voice full of disbelief. "That Draco Malfoy? Are you joking, Will?"
The twins stopped teasing Ron as well. "That... doesn't seem like a wise decision."

This was the outcome of Dumbledore's discussion with Will. When Will "killed" Harry, having a witness would make it more effective.
