With Wizard's Eye active, Will saw Santa Claus in an entirely different light—Santa Claus was a being made entirely of magic!
In Will's eyes, Santa Claus was one enormous mass of magic. The silvery-white orb in his hand remained largely unchanged, except that its silvery light was wrapped in intricate, elaborate magic.
Even Santa Claus gave him a slightly surprised look. "Child, you can see it?"
Will nodded, staring at Santa Claus. An uneasy feeling stirred inside him, even sending a chill down his spine—apart from Ramesses II and Nefertari, this was the second person he had seen transformed into magic. Santa Claus's transformation was even more complete than Ramesses II's.
He was unlike Ramesses II, who was merely a mass of self-aware magic, unable even to take solid form or live as a human.

"Are you afraid?" Santa Claus put away the orb in his hand, his expression still kindly. "Could you tell me why?"
"I've met another 'person.' I suppose he counted as a person. He became part of magic." Will kept his voice as calm as possible.
Santa Claus remained just as kindly. "No wonder. It seems he left you with a bad impression. What do you think this means?"
Will pondered for a moment, then voiced his bold guess. "You... did all of you receive a response
