DePty's spells followed, smashing the suits Will had hit one by one.
When the last suit of armor crumbled into rubble, DePty collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath. His robes were in tatters, and a cut on his left arm was bleeding.
He drained the last of his Invigoration Draught, rested on the floor for a moment, then got up and continued following the drifting points of light.
Will kept following him quietly.
The lights drifted on for a long time, crossing one stretch of ice after another before stopping in front of a huge sculpture of a symbol—a tangle of lines that looked like both a whirlpool and a ribbon.
The symbol was identical to the one on the key DePty and the others held. It clearly had something to do with Ancient Magic.
DePty reached out and gently touched the sculpture.

At the center of the hall stood an ornate stone basin. A small silver bottle hovered above it, its surface gleaming softly in the light.
