"Mr. Grindelwald wants to see me?" Will was baffled for a moment.

Dumbledore nodded. "It was one of his conditions for helping me this time. Gellert is very interested in you. Of course, he'll respect your wishes. If you don't want to meet him, you don't have to."

Will scratched his head. He was interested in some of Grindelwald's magic, too. After all, Grindelwald had once been Dumbledore's equal. Even a scrap of knowledge from either man would teach Will a great deal.

"I'd like to, Professor. I have some questions I'd like to ask Mr. Grindelwald myself." Will didn't want to pass up the opportunity. "When would we go? Is there anything I should prepare?"

"Tonight will do. Come on." Dumbledore stroked Fawkes's head. Fawkes looked up in displeasure, as though reproaching him for disturbing his rest.

"How are we getting there?" Will glanced at Fawkes. "Is Fawkes taking us?"

Will knew that even a Phoenix would need several jumps to reach Austria by Apparition.

"No, let him rest. We'll use something else—a Portkey." Dumbledore smiled and produced a small silver object. Will glanced at it. It seemed to be a broken ornament.

Because Hogwarts Castle prevented both Apparition and Portkeys, they used the Portkey outside the Castle.

After the familiar sensation of the world spinning around him, Will found himself beside Dumbledore at the foot of a dark, forbidding stone Tower.
