"Good work, Behrens. I'm leaving tonight. You'll stay at Hogwarts as our inside man." Quirrell sounded excited as he took a thin notebook from his drawer. "This is the Master's order too. It's his reward for you. Don't let Dumbledore find it."
"Is that what the professor wants? I have no objections. I'll await his return." Will accepted the notebook from Quirrell with a smile. It represented a wealth of experience.
They said little else. As if afraid of arousing Dumbledore's suspicions, Will quickly left the Office, saying only, "I'll wait at Hogwarts for your instructions, Professor."
Quirrell threw himself into his preparations. His body was already failing. Unlike in the original timeline, he had not drunk Unicorn Blood this time, and Voldemort had taken control of his body repeatedly. Now he was close to the end.
Voldemort was not the only one who could not wait. Quirrell himself had little time left.
Elsewhere, Harry lay in bed, anxiously waiting for Ron to pick him up with the Invisibility Cloak.
Thanks to Dumbledore's arrangements, Harry and Quirrell had received the news at almost the same time. Both had decided to act tonight.
The confrontation that should have taken place at the end of term had been dragged forward to tonight by the chain of events Will had set in motion.
An ordinary night at Hogwarts was about to become a great whirlpool. Harry and Voldemort stood at its center, while Dumbledore had created it.
If that whirlpool got out of control, it would drag all of Hogwarts in.
But Will had already taken his treasure from the whirlpool and left its center behind.
Will hummed cheerfully as he leafed through the thin notebook. He was in an excellent mood.
He held part of Voldemort's knowledge of Magic, including Dark
