Ministry of Magic, Auror Office.

An Auror walked into the office yawning and found a notice on his desk.

He picked it up, puzzled. "What's this?"

The Auror at the next desk sipped an extra-strong coffee. "Director Kane sent it out. We're getting new training."

The first Auror frowned and read the notice:

Effective immediately, all Aurors must attend Specialized Charms training and pass an assessment. Anyone who fails will be suspended from field duty until they pass.

"What?" The Auror frowned. "We still need training?"

"Apparently." The coffee-drinking Auror swallowed a mouthful of coffee so thick it was nearly sludge. "We barely have time to sleep, and now we have to train."

The news spread quickly, followed by a wave of discontent. Everyone had been run off their feet lately.

"New training?" A young Auror crumpled the memo and hurled it into a wastebasket. "Is this a joke? We passed the toughest Auror exams in the entire Wizarding World to get here!

"Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Tracking and Counter-Tracking—which of those can't we do with our eyes closed? And now they're telling us we need to start over?

"Lately we've either been patrolling Diagon Alley or fighting Death Eaters on the front lines. Who has time for training?"

"Exactly," a colleague beside him said with a frown. "Are they trying to work us to death? How many of us are still out on patrol?"

"I'm so tired lately..."

"I haven't had a single day off in a month..."

"I've been walking around Diagon Alley every day..."

"Hope it doesn't waste too much time..."

Complaints rose from every corner of the Auror Office.

"What are you all talking about?" Kane entered the Auror Office, his face dark.

The office fell silent at once.
